If leads aren't importing as expected, here are common causes:
ICP Blocking
The most common reason. Leads are blocked if they don't match your ICP:
- Check the import summary for "blocked" count
- Review your ICP configuration in Settings
- Look for specific block reasons (blockedtld, lowdomain_quality, etc.)
Domain Exclusions
Your admin may have blocked certain domains:
- Check Settings > Domain Exclusions
- Social media and listing sites are blocked by default
- Government (.gov) and education (.edu) sites are blocked
Duplicate Detection
If a lead already exists, it won't import again:
- Check if the company exists in your Leads list
- Duplicates are detected by domain and fuzzy name match
Data Quality Issues
Leads with invalid data are blocked:
- Company names under 3 characters
- Invalid or missing domains
- Test/example/demo company names
Solutions
- Review import summary for specific block reasons
- Adjust ICP settings if too restrictive
- Check domain exclusion list
- Ensure CSV data is properly formatted
